Preliminary Task - Editing

Preliminary Task - Editing

Adobe Premier Pro was used for editing.
Now that all our required footage has been shot, we have begun to edit the clips together. So far we have applied a range of techniques to the editing, such as: trimming,  and adding visual and audio effects and transitions. As a group we decided to mostly use straight cuts between each shot, in order to make the film visually accessible for the viewer, without compromising the film's quality.

Oli and I searching for music and sound effects
to use in our film vie 'FreeSound'.
With regards to the editing, we split our team into two sub-groups, with me and Oliver focusing on finding potential sounds to use for the film, and Megan and Hannah focusing on the overall editing of the footage. During the production of our genuine film, I would likely not do this again as I felt that me and Oliver had less input on the processing of the film, meaning Megan and Hannah had to do more work. During the editing and filming of my final film, I would try to keep everyone's role in the team equal while style allowing room for people's skills and strengths.

This separation of roles meant that I did not have much hands on use of Premiere, meaning I was not able to learn any new skills or techniques. This will be something that I will heavily focus in in the future, as I believe that the key to creating a successful piece is equal roles within the team.
