Preliminary Task - First Blog - Planning - 1/11/16
Our running Script.
Today we were allocated into our groups which we will be part of for the planning, filming, editing and evaluation of our preliminary film. My groups consists of me, Megan Russel, Hannah Jarvis and Oliver Hill, who I each already knew and have a strong work bond with. As soon as our group came together we immediately began the basic planning of our short film. This took the form of a mind map as it allowed us to easily record ideas while still making them easy to interpret at a later date. We each gave ideas and suggestions for potential character roles and basic plot points for the story, allowing each of us to develop from one another's ideas, which led to the running title of our film 'The Stuff'. The Stuff will follow me and Oliver in an exchange for an ambiguous object which is only revealed at the very end of the film. As a group, we decided to keep the roles of me and Oliver ambiguous, as this is not conventional of thrillers, meaning the audience would struggle to identify with one particular character over another. Around the page are photos of our group's storyboard, mindmap and basic script.
This is my group's mindap which we created when we were first allocated into our groups. The midnmap shows the basic plot points of our film as well as the editing and camera shots that could be used to further the quality of the film.
Our basic storyboard folows me and Oli engaging in a confronatation over 'The stuff' in my office. Oli drew the illustrations shown on the storyboard while myself and the rest of the group gave ideas for what shots and techniques should be used.
